Pumpkins here, soup there – autumn’s just around the corner. Not just for us, but officially too. There’s no getting round it now.

Swim shorts are slowly being packed away, the cosy blanket is taking over, and the fishbowl is turning into a sauna barrel. Cold outside? We couldn’t care less. We’ll just turn the heating up.

Before we all throw on our bathrobes and spend the whole day ‘relaxing’, though, October has plenty more in store: a poetry slam, a dog pool party, comedy magic and Halloween. There’s something for everyone – even for those who just wanted to pop in “for a quick beer”.

Speaking of ‘quick’: cash is now a thing of the past here too. No loose change. No fiddling with your wallet. No ‘Do you have the exact change?’. Cashless, baby. Tap your card, done, move on.

And when the weather outside starts to get a bit nippy, we’ll just kick back indoors. Sauna barrels, treatments and plenty of ‘I’m not doing a thing today’. Sounds like a pretty good plan to us.

So, October: bring it on. We’re ready.
